The thickening operation of the suspended solid is one of the unavoidable processes in the treatment of sludge of sewage and other origins. In particular, the thickening process utilizing the law of gravitation has been used most frequently due to the low power consumption in spite of the large space required for installation.
However, the thickening method relying on the gravity has recently shown insufficiency in the capacity of separation and sludge concentration due to the change in general conditions such as the increase in the quantity of sludge and the rise in the content of organic substance, with the frequent adverse influence on the entire plant system under the existing circumstances. In addition, 4-6% of the sludge concentration required for the recent high concentration/digestion demand as well as enhanced efficiency of the dewatering machine is utterly out of the thickening capacity relying on the gravity.
In response to these requirements, we have succeeded in developing totally innovative ultra energy-saving type "KOTOBUKI RC-Centrifugal Thickener" and shipped a number of units to meet the industrial needs.
